You will be only be registered after you have signed up with your account and have sent a payment. It is your responsibility to ensure your payment has been processed before you are enrolled in the course.

PREREQUISITES

  • A person must be at least 16 years old
  • CSA approved safety-toed boots with 6″ of ankle support are required during this course
  • Have the physical ability to perform the skills required to complete the learning tasks
  • Must be able to drive or walk up to 20 minutes for road practice
  • No previous training is required

CERTIFICATION

Once completed, each graduating student is issued a three-year certificate that allows them the ability to work anywhere in BC as a Traffic Control Person. This is recognized by WorkSafeBC as the only valid High-Risk TCP certificate in the province. There is a multiple-choice exam that requires a minimum score of 80%. There is also a practical skills session on the roadway that each student must pass. United Traffic may offer immediate employment opportunities to qualified candidates.

COURSE LENGTH

The duration of this course is 16 hours over 2 days.

COURSE CONTENT

  • Roles and responsibilities of TCPs, employers and supervisors
  • Regulations and standards, including those set out by the Ministry of Transportation, WorkSafeBC and the Motor Vehicle Act
  • Traffic control equipment and devices, including personal protective equipment
  • Setting up, maintaining and removing work zones
  • Working around equipment Basic and advanced traffic control skills

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

  • Please bring your own food & drinks
  • Please bring pens and highlighters
  • Safety boots will only be needed on the second day of class
  • Pants and shirts (with minimum 3″ sleeves) must be worn the second day of class
  • Dress weather appropriately
  • Free parking is available on site

COST

$300.00 + GST 5%

CANCELLATION POLICY

Full refunds are available for cancellations within 48 hours of the course start date. Please email training@unitedtraffic.ca. Allow for 3-5 business days for processing refunds. There are no refunds for cancellations with less than 48 hours’ notice of the course start date. Any additional questions related to changing previously booked courses to later dates can be directed to training@unitedtraffic.ca.
